What happened to the once all mighty strong fortress which soar like an eagle and consistently winning silverwares/trophies annually? Manchester United a.k.a manunited was once a team which all opponents feared upon hearing its name. They would go into every single matches with high confidence,finishing opposing teams with their quick and decisive counter-attacking play,so quick that they leave trails of dust behind them. The likes of them playing fast attacking football is long gone,mere shadows of the past is what's left of them. Locust,was the word used to describe their menacing "infestation" on opposing teams during the days of glory. The likes of giggs,butt,scholes,keane,yorke,cole,stam,irwin,schmeichel and beckham who helped manunited won the famous treble(champions league,F.A cup and premier league title),were all gone like the wind.

A look back at these few players and their strong points which made them world class....


Giggs(my favourite player),was blessed with quick feet,pace and acceleration.He is famous for slicing open opposing teams' defence and threatening them with his mazy runs.A natural left footer with capabilities of scoring goals.


Butt,was a solid all-round player who runs up and down the field non-stop to try and play a part in every of united's attack and defence,great tackler he was too.

Scholes,was a great attacking player who likes to penetrate fm deep,perfect with his floating passes which constantly broke offside traps and was a regular goal supplier and scorer himself too.

Keane,organised the team very well and display excellent reading of the game.A tough tackler who never gives up,main driving force of the entire team.

Yorke/cole, one of the best partnership in the world at tht time,both of them featured in 386 games together bagging 186 goals in their whole career with manunited(tht's bout one goal in every two matches!)

Stam,standing 1.91m,he was superb in air and ground,very focused and his presence was greatly felt by his fellow defenders.

Irwin,one of the best full back i've ever seen,full of stamina and always going up field to support and overlap to help in united's attacking play,great crosser of the ball too!

Schmeichel,great reflexes,leadership,command of area and handling with one on one situations.A near perfect goalie!

Beckham,great passer of the ball,blessed with the ability to make inch-perfect passes to intended strikers and was a great goal scorer too.

These are a few of them who truly play a part in alex ferguson's fearsome fortress,they won many titles yr in yr out making them one of the world's greatest club ever.

What is left of the manunited team which once terrorised defence week in week out are scholes,giggs and keane. Old age had caught up with them and hence they aren't as good or as fit as before. Giggs no longer has his pace and acceleration,scholes no longer has the penatrating-attacking play of his and keane can't last for the entire 90mins anymore.

Now in present time,these brand new manunited team is far greater and stronger than the old one but in order to catch up with chelsea(the pretender) OR tottenham(suprisingly) and play like they used to play,they ought to change their tactics and style of playing. Their contain and dominating style of soccer is not suitable for them. With players such as park ji sung,ronaldo,rooney,saha,smith and richardson, this manunited surely must go for a fast pace football with direct passes and thru balls. Manunited is blessed with so many fast players and so sir alex gota make full use of their pace and trickey. I was shocked at the way they play against middlesbrough,they were always holding the ball up and passing around their own-half which is real boring to watch. I really hope that they would change tactics in the next game against lille and strive for the better.

Manchester United forever!!!!it's 1 in the morning now and i'm totally not tired at all!hahaha oh yea and this week is the last week of sch for me..to those ppl who alr started their sch hols-----GO WATCH BLEACH!!!!!!!!!!!(an anime fm www.bleachportal.net)it's super nice and super cool,i got cavan to watch the first 9 episodes and now his addicted to it! lol. okay,i think i've just finished downloading epi 56,going to watch it now!gd morning everyone!=D
